What it does

People verify their identity from their phone: consent, front and back of the ID, liveness and face match. If one step fails, only that step is retried.

Claude reads the document and returns structured data, but it doesn't decide. The decision is made by deterministic code: MRZ check digits (ICAO 9303), front-to-back consistency, expiry, allowed countries, minimum age and AWS scores.
