What it does

The old store downloaded 5 MB in 100 requests before showing anything: 40 to 80 seconds of blank screen for many of its shoppers, who connect over slow or expensive data.

We rebuilt it with server rendering and a service worker: every page weighs 17 to 29 KB, reads without JavaScript and has an offline page. Secrets and the session token never reach the browser.
